The Michigan Burlesque Festival is proud to announce this years burlesque workshops, hosted by several award-winning burlesque and stage performers, including MiBF headliners – Red Rum and Jeez Loueez!

11- 12pm – Leena’s Alluring Makeup and Hair hosted by Leena Mynx Allure
Part of the Detroit School of Burlesque, Leena Allure is known for her classic old Hollywood makeup and hair and wants to share her tips and tricks with you. Not only will she go over some of her favorite retro styles, but also theatrical tips to help you create the perfect look for stage, photo shoots, and more.
She will teach you ways of making hair styling easier for you and show you some fun tricks to up your makeup game.
** Things to bring: Notebook and pen and Eyelashes Part of this class will cover eyelashes application.
12:15pm-1:15pm – Creature Feature, Transformative Prosthetic Makeup Demonstration hosted by Red Rum
A little bit PEEPshow, a little bit FREAKshow…a little bit CREEPshow! Burlesque Performance Artist RedRum will talk about the relationship of burlesque to the history of circus sideshow and the trajectory of her own work as it relates to the push and pull of attraction/repulsion. She will then demonstrate quick and creative uses of prosthetic makeup appliances and other means of achieving dimension with basic makeup tools. Emphasis will be on creature and character makeup.
**No need to bring materials, just come equipped with questions and ideas.
1:30pm-3pm – Twerk and Jerk: BOOTY Intensive Twerkshop hosted by Jeez Loueez
The class that has everyone ready to pop, wobble, werk, and wine!!!
This high-energy choreography intensive is not for the faint of heart. Fusing the sensuality of burlesque with the sharp attitude of hip hop, this class will focus on isolations, footwork, and of courseTHE BOOTY! Class begins with a warm up and stretch and more into a combination of popping your favorite asset. Learn coveted moves such as the Booty Chaser and the Slow Wine! Drop it like it’s hot and pick it back up again! Some dance experience is recommended.
***Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing in which you can easily move. Booty shorts and knee pads recommended. Bring a water bottle.
3:15pm-4:45pm – Fabulous is a State of Mind hosted by Foxy Tann
Sometimes a girl has GOT to be fabulous! Whether it be on stage, in the boardroom, or in the lecture hall, there are times when a girl has to be larger than life. Foxy Tann is offering an exciting and fun way to get in touch with a truthful inner confidence using burlesque as a framework. You will create and use pathways and methodologies that will help you forge a more sexy and confident you in an authentic and organic way – allowing you to tap into show stopping energy whenever you need it. Learn to work with what you have and love what you work with! This is a physical class with guided discussions and critiques in a safe and supportive environment.
**Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to move!
MIBF has joined the Burlesque Hall of Fame fundraising program. As part of the program, there is a $1.00 additional fee per ticket that will go directly to the Burlesque Hall of Fame (BHoF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating burlesque.

As many of you in the community may or may not have heard, there have been concerns raised about the safety of performers at the Michigan Burlesque Festival.
